    Last book you read: Fifty Shades of Gray, while we were on a cruise and my husband pulled his back, and I had nothing better to do while hanging out with him in the room.

    Something you’re really good at: I’m on the rowing team at UNH, so I’d say rowing & athletics in general.. Also really good at being grumpy without coffee in the morning! :-p

    Best gift you’ve received: Toss up between 1) One of my coach’s favorite books that he gifted me for HS grad, with a sweet inscription suggesting I would enjoy it; went on to become one of my all-time favorite authors and 2) $5 gift card to my favorite coffee shop for “Whenever you need a warm hug,” referring to a comment I’d made that a latte tastes like a warm hug months prior.

    Last book you read: “Capital” by Thomas Pikkety. Not my usual style to pick up the book on display, but recommendations from economist friends/ mentors never go overlooked in my book – ;-).

    Something on today’s to do list: Clean up the apartment! (Made it to 11pm without a dent, so…outlook not great for today.)

    Something you’re really good at: Baking. Somebody’s gotta kill the brunch-hosting game!

    Something you’re really bad at: Cooking. Still trying to figure out how spices work….just give me my baking powder, flour, and sugar pleeeease. Luckily, the boy harbors pretty good cooking skills so we don’t always suffer through my questionable attempts.

    Best gift you’ve received: Trip to England from my grandparents (my first out of the states!), or the Henri Bendl pill holder my BF gave me for our first Valentine’s.

    Last book you read: The Red House, by Mark Haddon – SO GOOD. Not your typical novel, and I love Haddon’s methods of storytelling.

    Something on today’s to do list: Finish a sketch for a painting and do my dishes. I’m such a procrastinator.

    Something you’re really good at: I’m very proud of my penmanship, and being able to retain tons of useless facts about movies, musicals, plays, actors, and actresses.

  9. Best gift you’ve received: an 18th birthday gift from one of my best friends, which was a painting of a quote from my favorite song at the time that she made. it’s beautiful, and extra special since she actually painted it!

    Something you’re really good at: organizing (anything). I love planning out my week or tidying or organizing data for work

  10. Best gift you’ve received: I was given my Grandmother’s wedding ring as a gift when I finished my Masters degree! I had told me mom that I liked it YEARS previously and it was such a surprise to receive it. I burst into tears in a restaurant in Philadelphia when I realized what it was. So special.

    Last book you read: Not That Kind of Girl! Highlighted basically every passage…

    Something on today’s to do list: Get myself to stop watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix long enough to walk into town for an all black mani/pedi for Halloween Week!

    Something you’re really good at: Having vision & making sh*t happen! Whether it be complex projects at work or small design choices at home.

Best gift you’ve received: I’ll try to make this short…Me and the Hub lived in Germany 1st 5 yrs of marriage…Army..poor..haha..I had my eye on this Gold framed wall clock that hung in a furniture store. You could see it from the street. It was there for years. We drove by one day and my hub would slow down so I could see it….It was GONE! Well guess what I got for my 25th birthday…awwwww

    Something on today’s to do list: Edit and post pictures from my mom’s and my cruise from July.. whoops.

    Last book you read: Pardonable Lies: A Maisie Dobbs Novel. Actually listened to this as an audio book {I’m still going to count it!} during my red eye to Washington earlier this month. Great series if you are looking for something that isn’t too challenging but has a good story and characters.

    Something on today’s to do list: Renew magazines. One of my favorite Saturday activities is to curl up and read Vanity Fair and In Style and my subscriptions are almost over! Eeek!

    Something you’re really good at: Crossword puzzles/Soduku, taking pictures {for an amateur}, planning events for me and my friends.

    Last book you read: The Giver, Lowis Lowry. I spent a lazy and rainy Sunday cuddled in my bed with this book and finished it in a few hours!

    Best gift you’ve received: For my birthday this year, my boyfriend set up a shrine, if you will, by our front door so that I would see it when I came in. It was a compilation of all of the gifts he had ever given to me, including some fresh flowers, pictures we had printed of us, but never hung, and a beignet from my favorite spot. It was so sweet.

    Best gift you’ve received: This was never something that was directly given to me as a gift but it was really important to my grandma to pay for my college tuition. She actually saved up enough money to pay for all of her grandchildren’s colleges. I’m just super touched by this and incredibly grateful for her generosity.

    Last book you read: I haven’t read anything since summer (sadly), but the last book I can recall reading is The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult and it was really good!

Best gift I’ve received: Right before my high school graduation, my grandmother gave me the ring (her birthstone encircled by tiny pearls) her father had given her right before her high school graduation– it is a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind piece, and it’s extra special because we have the same birthstone and went to the same high school

  55. Best gift you’ve received: When I turned twenty-one, my mother took me to the Louis Vuitton store in Copley Place in Boston and said “pick ONE”. At the time, Murakami’s white monogram multicolore bags were so “in”, but somehow in that vast expanse of prettiness (and gaudiness), I chose a plain leather tote that is timeless and that I use to this day. I am still shocked that I had the control as a college junior to pick the classic bag over a trendy one!

    Last book you read: I am desperately trying to finish the first book in the Game of Thrones series.

    Something on today’s to do list: Finish up a custom drawing for my college roommate’s new baby girl to hang in her nursery. A happy to-do for sure! 🙂

    Last book you read: Where Did You Go Bernadette? I loved this book – it was quirky and funny but also sweet and endearing. I recommend to anyone!

    Something on today’s to do list: Finalize weekend plans for a trip to my alma mater, Indiana University!

    Last book you read: The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe. An awesome October read (antique manuscripts, witches, etc.) set in my hometown! Currently reading Pride & Prejudice for the first time. Love it!
