INSPIRATION FOR MY HOME OFFICE

I’m excited to have a home office again in our new house! The closet in our bedroom is pretty tiny so I’ll be using my office as sort of a second closet (you may have seen my shoe shelves here). But the room gets amazing natural light so I am planning on setting up a desk and working from there most days. Since I haven’t had a home office since I lived in a studio apartment in New York, I’m collecting all kinds of inspiration to make the most of this small space where I’ll be spending so much time.

I love all the organized shelving in Emily Ley’s office, not to mention how huge her desktop is. I basically live for a giant workspace, which is why I actually use this dining table as my desk! And I love the idea of a white desk chair… if I didn’t already have the world’s cutest desk chair. 😉

I’m totally borrowing the idea of shoe shelving in my home office from Christine of Hello Fashion. Isn’t her workspace dreamy?

house of harper home office

Caroline from House of Harper basically has the home office of my dreams… French doors, a bright pink rug, and a chandelier to boot?! I love the idea of departing from my usual blue and white color palette to do something a little more feminine in this space.

I’ve always been a fan of framed silk scarves (I used to sell them in my online boutique!) and I love that Liz from Pure Joy Home hung one above her desk. I can’t think of a prettier view during the work day! P.S. You can recreate the look with a vintage silk scarf from Etsy (currently loving this, this, and this) and this acrylic hanging kit.

My bestie Amy Stone has the best taste in interiors — you guys are going to flip when you see her plans for her new apartment! I love the mix of modern and vintage finds in her old apartment (and we’re currently using the same acrylic console in our living room).

lemon stripes home office

My friend Julia from Lemon Stripes has the cutest gallery wall above her desk! I haven’t done a gallery wall since we invested in a few oversized prints that were in our living room and bedroom but all the fun prints in Julia’s space have my wheels turning.

Who remembers this gallery wall from my first apartment in New York? I can’t believe this was four years ago!

If you’re super tight on space, I love this idea of hanging floating shelves above your desk for books, decor, and shoes. And I adore the inspiration board behind the computer… More inspiration for making your own right here!
