Hello and happy Monday! I am still up on Nantucket getting our house ready for our July visitors and our September wedding. The floors are being stained this week (we’re currently staying at my Grandy’s house) and we’ll be able to put all the furniture back in place at the end of next week. I know this step is going to make a huge difference throughout the whole house and I can’t wait to see the end result! I’m planning to space out some before-and-afters of the house throughout the summer so stay tuned for some fun decorating posts. It will be a busy summer putting the finishing touches on our wedding planning and updating the house but I’m a lucky duck to get to spend the next couple months on Nantucket!
Speaking of pretty places, though, I’m so excited to share the first set of many pictures my brother Grayson and I snapped in Southport, Connecticut, last week. It’s about a 25 minute drive from Greenwich but so worth it for the gorgeous harbor views and fragrant flower boxes on every building. We lucked out with a beautiful sunny day and spent most of it cruising around with the windows down saying, “Oooh, I could live there… Look at that one!” I can definitely see this becoming a new favorite New England town, maybe on par with Rowayton, which we love for ice cream cones and after-dinner strolls. Both towns definitely have a Nantucket vibe to them so if you’re ever driving through Connecticut, they are totally worth a pit stop. If you’ve already been, I’d love to hear about any of your favorite spots in the area!
