WEEKEND RECAP

Happy Monday! I got to Nantucket on Friday and the house has been filling up ever since. I’m going to be here working on the house and wedding planning for the rest of the summer with a couple trips back to Connecticut for dress fittings, etc. My parents, fiancé, and brother Grayson were here for the weekend, Amy is staying until Wednesday, Ali and her husband Patrick are here for all of July, and my brother Camden and his friend Zach are here working for the summer. I spend a lot of my time working from home alone so it makes my heart happy to be surrounded by so many of my favorite people!

I have to say, the house is coming along beautifully. My dad and I have made quite the painting duo and so far we’ve done the living room, dining room, and two hallways. You can see a glimpse of the new floor stain in the guest bedroom and everyone who has walked into the house has exclaimed how big of a difference the floor makes! And it’s amazing how two coats of white paint make every space feel so much bigger and brighter. We started moving furniture and rugs back into place in the rooms we’ve painted and it just feels like a totally new house.

On Saturday night, we met up with Gray and his husband for dinner at Cru followed by a night on the town. They were visiting from L.A. to shoot aerial beach photos of the island and the sneak peeks look incredible! I can’t wait to add one or two to the house here as well as our house in Connecticut. I’m obviously a huge fan of his work but he’s just such a doll in person — it was such a nice way to kick off the season.

After spending Saturday running around ‘Sconset and spending the afternoon on the beach, I spent most of yesterday helping my dad paint inside the house. I honestly find it pretty relaxing and it’s so satisfying to see all those yellow walls covered in bright white. Plus he’s such a perfectionist that I’m just happy he’s letting me help!

So many of you DMed me about my favorite ice cream place on Nantucket after I shared a peek of this outfit on Instagram a couple weeks ago so here’s the scoop! (So many dad jokes this week.) I know it’s cliché but I would wait on an hour long line for the Juice Bar’s cookie dough in one of their homemade waffle cones or cups. We honestly gave serious thought to having them make our wedding cake because I’m so obsessed. We ultimately went in a more traditional direction but that won’t stop me from stopping by multiple times a week despite the fact that I’ll be stepping into my wedding dress in two short months. ?
