Hi! I’m Mackenzie Horan Beuttenmuller and I live in Darien, Connecticut, with my husband Will and our four boys Teddy, Peter, Tucker, and Rory. I started Design Darling as a creative outlet during my junior year at Bucknell in 2009 and lived in San Francisco, New York, and Dallas before moving back to Connecticut and getting married on Nantucket in 2017. We bought an 1850s home in the summer of 2019 that we’ve enjoyed renovating and making our own.  

Design Darling is a blog about the people, places, and things I love, from the cutest toddler boy shoes (these, always!) to our favorite restaurants on Nantucket (a very comprehensive Nantucket guide here!) and everything in between. I write about decorating and personal style, keep a list of 101 things I’m hoping to accomplish in the next 1001 days, and share parts of my life as a mom of four boys designing a home, wardrobe, and life I love. This little corner of the internet has been my happy place for more than a decade now — and I sincerely hope it will become one for you too!
