Handbag Dreamin’

One of the more indulgent items on my 101 in 1001 list is to buy my first “grown-up” handbag. I’m on a bit of a shopping hiatus with the impending launch of my new boutique but I do hope to “invest” in the near future…

Are you the type to shell out for the bag of your dreams? What are you coveting these days?

  1. I’m not one to hold back when it comes to purchasing handbags but if they’re too expensive I usually hold back! I change my mind/style way too much when it comes to what I carry so I hate to spend that much on a bag I may not be able to commit to!! These are all gorgeous though!!

  2. I absolutely love that Reed Krakoff bag. As for me, I’ve got my fingers crossed that someone will give me a nice bag for graduation – the real world requires a real bag! Rebecca Minkoff’s MAB has been at the top of my list for years!

  3. The Jcrew one you put on there I posted about yesterday, and I think it looks so much like the Celine bags. If only I could afford a bag like the Celine (I think they’re like $1500-$2000 or something?). And, yes, I love nice bags. I would definitely splurge on one. Without a doubt. Nice bags look nice, and they last forever.

  4. i DEFINITELY believe in investing in a designer handbag – you’ll have it forever and you’ll always remember how hard you worked to save up for it.

i was lucky enough to receive a black patent leather chanel for college graduation. now im a working girl and trying to save up for something a bit edgier – the alexander wang rocco duffel!

  5. Gorgeous !! I would much rather have a few really nice bags over a bunch of not as nice bags ! I saved up and got a miu miu for my past birthday…LOVE it ! But now I want a Celine or Prada tote.

  6. What do you consider grown up bag? By cost, function, aesthetics? I’m willing to shell out a certain amount for quality work bags that I can use day in and day out, but still over time these eventually wear out with heavy use. Love your picks!

  7. this is SO on my list too. i’ve been dreaming of a real designer leather handbag since the first time i walked into a louis vuitton store as a 10 year old.

best of luck with the boutique launch. so excited for you!

  8. I felt the same way about having a grown-up handbag! my tory burch bag I got for christmas fit the bill perfectly! I love the michael kors bags – I stopped in the store the other day and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked a lot of their stuff!

  9. I’ll always make the ‘investment’ as I like to call it, but I will also admit that I was too chicken to make the purchase of the Jumbo Flab bag when I was at the Chanel store…still regret not buying it, there is always next time!
