WEEKEND IN MONTAUK

Amy and I had the best weekend in Montauk. I usually fill every free summer weekend with a trip to Nantucket so it was fun to spend the first weekend of fall exploring somewhere totally new! We took the Jitney from the city (surprisingly painless) and stayed at the Montauk Yacht Club (you need to see the navy and white rooms!). We started each day with room service on our little deck and then headed out to explore the beach, the lighthouse, and plenty of local watering holes. Amy kindly snapped lots of outfit pictures on our trip (stay tuned!) but I thought we’d start with one of the most gorgeous places we visited. Say hello to The Surf Lodge!

The decor was to die for: turquoise floors with white Tolix chairs (get the look with these!), wicker baskets that were more art than lighting fixtures, and ice blue water views from every angle.

We ate dinner here on our first night (who could resist a lobster roll and a glass of rosé?) but had to come back in daylight to take pictures. I flipped for this surfer gallery wall. the surf lodge montauk restaurant outdoor seating

The outdoor seating area was so bright and fun — the perfect spot for cocktails on the water. It was pretty quiet given how late in the season we went but I imagine it must have been packed back in July and August.

These hanging rattan chairs were my favorite. We spent close to an hour just swinging, chatting, and enjoying the breeze from outside. A hanging chair is now officially a requirement for my dream home…
