The last time I wore this Burberry trench, a couple people commented that you didn’t like it styled with Converse sneakers. Ha! I totally appreciate the honesty, even if I maintain that a trench can be dressed up or down depending on where you’re headed. I’m a big believer in cost-per-wear so investing in pieces I’ll wear on an everyday basis is more important to me than splurging on special occasion wear. That said, I get that a lot of you would be wearing your trench to work so here’s a second look that’s a little bit more dressed up. (You could absolutely sub out the jeans for dress pants like these or these to make the look office-appropriate!)
Burberry Brit Balmoral packable trench coat // Chanel Extatique lipstick // Ted Baker London peplum sweater // Michael Kors double leather strap watch // Essie Blanc nail polish // Rag & Bone stretch skinny Kensington jeans // Alice + Olivia Dina pumps (available in black here, similar navy styles here)

Thanks for sharing two ways to style a trench – I loved both looks! The peplum sweater is adorable on you and you now have me lusting over those navy pumps!
I love that peplum sweater

Loved both of the ways you styled burberry, ignore the people who didnt like converse with it, I thought it looks great and you handled the critique very classily
I actually really liked how you styled the trench with the sneakers!
I think it’s really great that you showed us two different options of how to style such a big investment piece, and I think it would be a cool idea for future posts!
Thanks Mackenzie
You look like a model! I personally love the mix of dress up and dress down posts. Not all of us can rock heels all day long. I’m a drama teacher and I love your dress down looks.
That is hands down the most beautiful sweater I have ever laid my eyes on. I need to get myself to nordstrom and try this baby on!
That sweater is perfection!

The best part about a high-quality statement coat is you can dress it up or down! Looks great with kicks or heels (or flats I’m sure)!

I love the peplum sweater – looks amazing on you!! And, I support converse with juuuust about anything. I think they easily dress and outfit down a little. Enjoy your weekend!
I LOVE that peplum sweater! So chic and adorable. And again, that Burberry trench coat is amazing.

I think the beauty of trenches is that you CAN pair it with converse and you still look put together! Love this outfit though!
I love both styles! The heels and shirt in this outfit are so cute 🙂

I actually loved that you paired the trench with sneakers in your last post! Definitely opened up my mind to dressing a trench down a bit for weekend wear. This look is great too though, certainly something I would wear to the office. That sweater is too perfect.
