I had so much fun this fashion week! It couldn’t have been colder outside but I loved getting to see so many of my friends from around the country and to have a little more fun with my winter wardrobe! Here are a few peeks from my week as well as the deets on what I wore:

Navy faux fur vest (similar)  //  Equipment dress (worn as top)  //  Henri Bendel tote  //  Stuart Weitzman boots

I wore this navy-or-nothing look to the Lisa Perry presentation in Sutton Place and can’t believe I didn’t think to tie a grosgrain bow around my faux fur vest way sooner in the season. It gives it just enough shape and keeps it from blowing open, which is definitely the last thing anyone needs with this wind chill.

lisa perry fall 2015The Lisa Perry presentation took place in the most stunning apartment overlooking the East River. The designer is known for her 1960s-inspired brights but I fell most in love with this simple striped shift. Investing in one of her dresses is definitely going on my bucket list!

Scalloped top  //  Turquoise tassel earrings  //  Flared jeans

I was a little hesitant to order this crop top but I really love the way it looks in person! I’m definitely on the short side (5’1″) so it falls lower on me than it does on the model and works well with high-waisted denim (though I’m going to try it with a skirt come spring). I whipped off my coat for about 0.2 seconds while Jess took this picture for me — I don’t think either of us had ever been so cold in our lives. As my grandmother would say, for style you have to suffer… 😉

kate spade bow dress fall 2015Kate Spade is always one of my favorite fashion week events because you can get close to the clothes and take your time getting the perfect shot, as opposed to a runway show where there’s harsh lighting and no time to reshoot if your first snap is blurry or overexposed. Kate Spade’s team always does an amazing job transforming the space to suit the collection; this year it was these handpainted walls but in the past they’ve had everything from an astroturf garden to an indoor taxi cab. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these hot pink bow dresses — Kate Spade designs flattering fit-and-flare styles better than anyone else.

Pearl studs  //  Off-the-shoulder dress  //  Nude pumps

For my second Design Darling blogger brunch, I knew I could get away with fewer layers since the outdoor patio at Bobo where I hosted the event is fully covered and heated (and was almost too warm with so many of us inside!). It was so, so, so nice to have so many insanely beautiful, smart, and talented women in one space and I am so grateful for all that they do to help spread the word about my online boutique. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world! Above is Caitlin from Southern Curls & Pearls who is even more stunning in real life and possibly the nicest person I’ve ever met. Adore her and her style! As for my outfit, I fell in love with this dress at first sight and knew I had to have it for special occasions like this one. I had it hemmed to hit me right above the knee and I know I’m going to get a ton of wear out of this in the months to come. Also, I know I’ve raved about these shoes before but they are the most flattering cut I’ve ever tried — I already owned the navy but honestly I would buy them in every color under the sun.

bobo brunchIt was hard to top the venue or the flowers from last year’s blogger brunch but I really love how it turned out with the bistro chairs, globe lights, and hot pink ranunculus. I don’t actually love the taste of oysters but I will say the lobster omelette we chose for the menu was one of the yummiest brunch meals I’ve had in New York. If you’re planning a trip, make a Sunday reservation at Bobo stat!

White coat (only $30!)  //  Hot pink leather gloves  //  Chartreuse satin heels (similar)

My mom gave me these leather opera gloves for Christmas two years ago and I thought they really made this outfit. Sometimes colorful accessories can totally salvage a boring outfit! I wore this to the Vivenne Tam runway show at Lincoln Center, where I got to sit front row with Pandora, who designed all the jewelry for the collection. Now I just have the Lela Rose show today and then it’s another fashion week come and gone. Time flies when you’re having fun!

P.S. I originally posted these outfits on Instagram, where I linked up most of the items using Like To Know It. If you sign up on their website, you can have product links emailed to you when you like Instagrams from your favorite bloggers. (I get the emails in real time but you can choose to receive a daily or weekly recap — I think of it as extra content from the blogs I follow.) Full disclosure: I earn a small commission from certain retailers when you buy something I wear, which motivates me to snap more of my outfits and makes it easier for you to shop without having to ask where something is from, wait for me to see it and respond, and then search for the item once you’re at your computer. There’s no additional cost whatsoever for you, which I think makes it a pretty sweet service but I wanted to be totally transparent with you, the lovely people who make Design Darling possible. It’s weeks like this one that remind me how lucky I am to do what I do so big hugs to each and every one of you. xx

  1. I love every outfit! You look amazing and the scallop top from Kate Spade is a favorite – so glad you had such a good time and I know the brunch was amazing…the table looks gorgeous!

  2. Three things:
    1. Your brunch looked so fun! How lovely to have all those amazing gals in one place. And the pink flowers were the perfect pops of colour – do I spy a trend though?
    2. Please get the Lisa Perry striped shift. ‘Kay thanks.
    3. Thank you for disclosing that you make a commission if your readers buy certain products. Not enough bloggers are up front about this, so your honesty and note of thanks are appreciated.

  3. Such pretty outfits! I love the dress you wore to the blogger brunch. I need to become a fashion blogger to get an invite for next year. 😉

It looks like it was a blast.

  4. That bow you tied around your faux-fur vest is a nice touch! It gives your entire look more structure. Absolutely love the setting for the blogger brunch. It looks like it was beautifully decorated. I’ll have to try Bobo the next time I’m in the city.

  5. Love the white forever 21 coat! Is the coat warm? Also from the Northeast (Philadelphia) and looking for a coat that provides a little bit of warmth.

    1. It’s not very thick — you’d have to layer on a hat, scarf, gloves, etc. to make it a suitable winter coat for everyday wear. I ordered it just to have a different color coat in my closet for fashion week (at that price, I couldn’t say no!) but I wouldn’t wear it as my primary coat until March at the earliest.

  6. Looks like so much fun! Too bad it’s been sooo very cold, good for you for still stepping it up style-wise. I haven’t been able to wear anything but my puffer with the hood pulled up :). I love your winter white coat, very cute. Also, so cool that the Lisa Perry show was in Sutton Place!

  7. You look amazing and I love all of your outfits – especially the scalloped top and flared jeans look! I definitely need to get some updated flares for spring – I love that they are back in style! And your brunch looks amazing. Congratulations on running such a successful business – you are definitely an inspiration! xoxo

  8. The brunch was so beautiful! i’ve loved looking at everyone’s photos – such a fun tradition you have going! Also, I’m LOVING the last look. The white coat looks fab with the pink gloves. <3 <3
