I got back from London late last night and I definitely need to spend the next day or two catching up on emails and sleep. But I couldn’t wait to share a bunch of bright and happy photos from my trip! London left me feeling so inspired and ready to take on the world once I got home. It will never cease to amaze me how much fresh perspective a single trip can bring. Travel does wonders for my head and heart and this week in London was the perfect reminder to book more travel in the months to come, even if it’s an easy weekend road trip just to get out of town and clear my head for a day or two. Go, go, go!
On my first full day in London, my brother Grayson and I woke up early to have breakfast before he had to head to his internship. So many of you recommended Granger & Co. that there was no way I could go to London and not try it. Let me just say that I am still dreaming about the ricotta hotcakes a week later. OMG. We happened to go on a Wednesday morning so it was pretty quiet but I’ve heard it attracts quite the crowd on weekends. Even if you have to get up early, I will echo my readers’ recommendations and agree that this place is a London must!
This was my first time really traveling alone since I had studied abroad myself almost five years ago. While there were times where I wished my boyfriend or family were there with me, I actually really enjoyed the time to myself, DSLR camera in hand, nowhere to be but out exploring my new surroundings. I had been really looking forward to spending some time among the colorful homes of Notting Hill and they definitely did not disappoint. After spending a couple hours working from a coffee shop, I walked around all afternoon snapping inspiring exteriors, popping into little antiques shops on and around Portobello Road, and grabbing a bite to eat on my own. It was the perfect way to acclimate myself to the city, unplug from my iPhone, and get my mind completely off of work for a few hours.
Color just makes me so happy! I’m going to try to incorporate more of these bright hues and bold color combinations into my home and wardrobe going forward. I wish we had more of these colorful exteriors in New York! I couldn’t get enough of the glossy doors, trim hedges, elaborate moldings, gold street numbers, pretty window plantings… I could go on but I think the number of pictures speaks for itself. 😉
I loved Notting Hill – not only are there beautiful colors everywhere, but it’s just so full of personality with cute stores and vintage finds! Hope London was amazing, because I love it!
What lovely colors! It’s no wonder they made a movie about that part of London! #oopsiedaisy

So many beautiful photos! I can’t wait to hear more about your trip (:
Ahh! I love all these exteriors! I so wish I could see this while walking through the streets of Atlanta. The colorful doors in this post almost remind me of some of the doors I saw when I was in Dublin a few summers ago! I guess Europe really gets it right when it comes to colors for exteriors.

I’m in love with those colorful houses! I want to get to London someday!
Wonderfully inspiring photos, meese!!!
What exactly is the food pictured? It doesn’t quite look like pancakes, but does look yummy!
PS. Do love the colorful homes – who knew?! I’d picture these more in Turkey than in London.
Ricotta hotcakes at Granger & Co.!
That sounds really intriguing!
Notting Hill is my favorite section of London! I love the market scene there on weekends, it’s lovely around Christmastime with trees being sold on the corners. Looking forward to more highlights from your visit!
I love the colorful houses! Nice to hear that you had such a nice and relaxing trip. I dream of going somewhere and having nothing on the agenda but go out and explore.
