OUTFIT: EYELET SHIRT DRESS IN POSITANO

Positano. Where do I begin? This cliffside town captured my heart with its friendly people, homemade Caprese, and unbelievable ocean vistas. I’m happiest when I’m on the water (whether on a beach or boat) and I’m not sure I’ve ever been happier than the three days we spent in Positano. After Will’s job search, a long New York winter, and growing anxiety about our upcoming move, this trip provided exactly the relaxation we needed before actually following through on all those months of planning. Three days of seaside sunshine were just the ticket — it’s a trip I know I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Each day we’d wake up to see the sun rising over the Mediterranean from our balcony. (One perk of jet lag!) We stayed at the Hotel Marincanto, which was a great value and had incredible views from every room. It was a ten minute walk down to the beach and the dock for boat rides to other towns along the coast. We loved lunch at Le Tre Sorelle so much that we went back for dinner the next day — Will and I agreed that the lobster pasta was hands down the best meal of our lives. Cocktails at Le Sirenuse‘s champagne bar were another highlight — the views simply can’t be beat and it was a nice way to experience the hotel without splurging on an actual stay there.

Remember my search for the perfect shirtdress? I wound up purchasing a few different options and this is one of my favorites. Nothing feels more summery than white eyelet and it’s hard to resist Old Navy’s prices. My one complaint is that the waistline hits a little high (more like lower ribcage) but I think adding a belt helped remedy the situation. It was the perfect get-up for wandering through the town and I know it will get plenty of wear with the hot Texas summer I have ahead of me! Ladylike, preppy, and under $50… Who could say no to that?
