I’ve raved about Rent The Runway before but here’s a refresher in case you still haven’t tried it! It’s so hard to justify splurging on party dresses that I can only wear once (at least with the same group of friends) and it’s fun to wear try on something totally fabulous and maybe a little outside your comfort zone because you’ll only have it for one weekend. I’ve used Rent The Runway for friends’ weddings, birthday parties, Will’s company’s holiday party… there’s really no end in sight.

We celebrated Will’s friends’ engagement over the weekend and I knew it was an RTR-worthy occasion. I decided on this blue and white printed dress by Milly that I missed in stores last summer but now only costs $35 to rent for four days. You can also rack up credits by inviting your friends to Rent The Runway — I can’t tell you how many girlfriends I’ve helped choose dresses from their site over the years! This one reminds me of blue and white china but the mesh inserts at the shoulder give it a little modern update.

I have a couple more style posts featuring Rent The Runway in the works since I know 1) my outfits tend to be on the fairly casual side since I’m self-employed and don’t usually get dolled up for work and 2) many of you have upcoming weddings to dress for! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. What occasions do you have coming up? Any style questions you’d like me to answer? I’ll try my best!

  1. Can you do a “basics” wardrobe post? I just did a clothes purge after reading The life-changing magic of tidying and decluttering by Marie Kondo and I need to build my wardrobe back. I don’t know where to start. Love the outfit! you look so pretty. Love the pattern in the dress.

  2. What a dress! It’s so cute! Mackenzie, using RTR was a genius idea, and an affordable one too! I would have never considered that as an option. Will definitely check out the site in the future!

  3. i swear this dress was at Kohl’s today, there is a very small Milly collection there right now. True story….

  4. this dress looks like its MADE for you, so perfect.

I can’t believe it was only $35 to rent! the few times i’ve gone on the site, i thought they were much more so not really worth it to rent versus find one to buy… i’ll have to check them out again!
