SLEEPY JONES IN MONTAUK

This weekend was just the best. Will and I flew to New York late Friday night and spent Saturday catching up with friends, visiting all the restaurants we miss most, and trekking out to New Jersey for a Taylor Swift concert. I’ve been a huge fan of hers since high school but this was my first time seeing her perform live and she did not disappoint! In fact, I may have shed a tear or two listening to her words of wisdom for the younger members of the audience. Shhhh. 😉

Then on Sunday, I took the Jitney out to the Hamptons to meet up with the Sleepy Jones crew and see their summer pop-up in Montauk. It’s located in the Cynthia Rowley boutique on Montauk Highway and could not be cuter! I picked up a bunch of new things and we headed back to Sag Harbor to take a few pictures before I flew back to Dallas. A little city, a little beach, great music, and great pajamas… Why can’t every weekend be this good?!

P.S. The one downside of the weekend is that I clumsily managed to break my toe on the rocky beach in Montauk, right after I took this picture. It hurts so bad! If someone has a magical remedy, do tell!

P.P.S. Remember this Sleepy Jones shoot I did a couple years ago? Time flies!

  1. Hi Mackenzie,

I broke my big toe last summer, and taking Calcium + Vitamin D supplements every day (2 capsules/day) really helped to speed up the healing process!

Of course if you’re swollen, a bag of frozen peas can also do the trick 😉

    Get well soon!
    Jenny

  2. I broke my big toe this winter and I did nothing. Sadly it’s still broken. Tape it or something! Just don’t do nothing, apparently that’s the wrong thing to do. Get well soon!!

  3. Big toes just plain hurt! I kept mine taped to its neighbor for a few weeks, and tried to wear close toed shoes to avoid re-injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

  4. I love those pajamas!! I’m wanting to order some and can’t decide on what size I should order on top! I’m 5’10 and have a relatively small chest (34c). Do you think a small top would fit me?
Thank you! I love your blog and photos!

  5. Broken toes are the worst. From my experience, there’s nothing that helps but time. I kind of broke mine during house party weekend one year – oops.

I just have to say I love the book The Stranger by Albert Camus! It’s kind of dark, but awesome. I’m not sure if you’ve read it (I read it for a class) but I got really excited to see it in these pictures! Also, I’m dying to see T-Swift live so I’m jealous. I saw her open for Faith & Tim ages ago, but quite a bit has changed since then, haha.

      1. I now want to learn French solely so I can read The Stranger in French. Impressive! And yes, my sister went to see Taylor and she’s raving about it too!!
