FASHION WEEK OUTFIT INSPO

Ali and I decided to book a last-minute trip to New York for Fashion Week and I’m excited to be back in my old stomping grounds for a few days and soak up the best season in the city (even if it is supposed to be about as hot as Dallas!). I’m already making mental notes of everywhere I want to eat (Palma, Rosemary’s, Tipsy Parson…) but I really need to buckle down and figure out what on earth I’m going to wear. Ahhh!

Fashion week is the ultimate people watching in my book. You know you’re going to see the chicest women on the face of the earth but there’s also a lot of crazy going on — as in I’m certain there will be people wearing faux fur and suede even when it’s 90 degrees outside. I’m all for getting in the fall spirit but I’ll probably be sticking to long-sleeved dresses and more transitional styles since we haven’t really bid farewell to summer weather just yet. For those of you who are mentally prepared for fall but still dressing for warm weather, here are a few outfit ideas I’m loving and a few pieces I’ve picked up recently.

An off-the-shoulder top looks a bit dressier with a boxy bag, chic flats, and statement jewelry. This was such a huge trend this summer that I bet we’ll still see plenty of them popping up at fashion week. I love this one for an off-the-shoulder option that doesn’t scream summer.

I have no qualms about wearing white after Labor Day and love the idea of pairing white denim with a navy blazer. It might be too hot to pack much outerwear for this trip but it’s never a bad idea to have an extra layer for excessively air conditioned interiors (i.e. every restaurant in Dallas). This blazer has seen me through many New England fall seasons but I’d love to invest in one of these in the near future.3123d319f0f049834d0f3d22b8bbfbbb

When in doubt, wear an oxford shirt. I picked this one up recently and have been wearing it on repeat but I’d love to pair it with this perfect summer-to-fall skirt. A few of the items I’ve ordered to try on for fashion week include this olive dress, this silk romper, and this gorgeous bag. Fingers crossed I love them as much in person as I do online! Can you tell I love fall? Someone hide my wallet please… 😉
