If you couldn’t tell, I love making lists. Grocery lists, to do lists, 101 in 1001 lists… I don’t discriminate. Recently I’ve started thinking about writing a bucket list (or rather, editing the one I made in college). I started reading a few bucket lists online and it’s crazy how many are out there. They can actually be a little overwhelming but I could still read them for hours. Since my current bucket list would almost exclusively be a list of places I want to travel, I thought it would be fun to break it down into a hotel bucket list: ten places I want to stay before I die.
Avalon Palm Springs // Palm Springs, California
Formerly the Viceroy, the Avalon looks like a design lover’s heaven on earth. That cabana… Swoon.
Belmond Hotel Splendido // Portofino, Italy
After our trip to the Amalfi Coast this spring, I would happily travel back to Italy every vacation for the rest of my life. Why not when there are places like this still waiting to be discovered? Any hotel with a flowering terrace overlooking the pool is fine by me.
Four Seasons Bora Bora // Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Can you even imagine?!
Giraffe Manor // Nairobi, Kenya
Going on safari with my family is definitely high on my bucket list. But staying in a hotel where giraffes roam the property and duck into the interior to say hello? That’s about as good as it gets.
Halcyon House // Cabarita Beach, Australia
Anna Spiro is one of my very favorite interior designers and I think the completion of her Halcyon House hotel project warrants a trip down under ASAP. My only concern is that I’d never leave the hotel for fear of missing a single perfectly placed detail.
Hanging Gardens Ubud // Bali, Indonesia
It’s hard to imagine a more peaceful spot than these terraced infinity pools in the Indonesian rainforest. The fact that they’re attached to a five star resort just sweetens the deal. 😉
Hotel Augustus // Forte dei Marmi, Italy
Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc // Antibes, France
It would be a dream vacation to retrace the steps of Slim Aarons to this hotel on the French riviera. A dip in the infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean followed by a cocktail at their famous champagne bar? Oui oui!
J.K. Place // Capri, Italy
Will and I reminisce about our day trip to Capri all the time. My one regret? That J.K. Place hadn’t yet opened for the season and we couldn’t drop in for lunch. An excellent reason to go back…!
Katikies Hotel // Oia, Greece
I had the chance to spend a few days on the Greek islands during my semester abroad in college and the views haven’t left my mind since. Do you have a hotel bucket list? I’d love to hear!
Giraffe manor has been on my list for awhile, loved discovering some new hotels to add to my list!

These hotels all look so incredibly gorgeous! I would have never thought to make a hotel bucket list but it’s such a good idea! I think I’m going to start working on mine right now! 🙂

The Four Seasons Bora Bora is my idea of heaven. It’s at the top of places I’d love to stay, but I need to win the lottery first!
I didn’t realize you could find bucket lists online but now I want to go look for them. I want to go to the Biltmore someday, specifically at the height of fall. There’s also those hotel in SAN diego, I don’t remember the name, hotel Coronado maybe? It’s really old and red and white. I saw it on the show with Samantha Brown a few years ago. I loved that show ! I wish it was still on.
They all look so beyond amazing!!!
Oh my gosh all of these hotels are gorgeous!

So beautiful. I’m definitely going to have to add some of these to my list. I’ve also dreamed about staying in one of the beautiful old Paris hotels like Hotel de Crillon or Hotel Byblos in San Tropez.
All of these places look absolutely amazing!

I would love to say at any one of these spots! I haven’t really given much thought when it comes to adventures outside the U.S., but I would love to go back to The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. I went with my family growing up and it was amazing, but I think I would appreciate it even more now!
That’s totally on my list too — I’ve heard great things!
SImply gorgeous places to stay! I’ll take a trip to each of them, please! Perfect inspiration for a Monday!
Love traveling. These are some great places to see!
