When it comes to cocktails, I can be pretty picky. I don’t love dark liquor and I might be the only girl who thinks vodka sodas taste like Windex. At dinner, I tend to drink rosé; if I’m out at a bar, I usually order a Hendricks gin and tonic. I was introduced to this fun twist on a gin cocktail this summer and have been ordering it ever since. It’s light and refreshing and a nice way to partake in happy hour without getting too tipsy. I hope you enjoy!
French 75 (recipe found here)
1. To make one drink, shake 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) gin, 1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 ounce) lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Strain into champagne flute and top with 1/4 cup (2 ounces) champagne.
3. Garnish with lemon twist and serve! We served ours in these champagne flutes on this tray.
THANK YOU for saying vodka sodas taste like Windex! If I’m out with friends and getting drinks, I’d rather at least enjoy what I’m drinking. I’ll definitely throw the French 75 into the mix this weekend!
Yum! I love these!
