Okay people, it’s crunch time! This week was a bit of a doozy as bedside tables arrived that were totally wrong for the room and now I’m scrambling to find something that’s the right color, size, and style and will arrive in the next week or so. I see an emergency shopping trip in our near future…
Thankfully the lucite curtain rods have shipped, I’ve found someone to hang wallpaper in the powder room, and this lumbar pillow is in the works to tie the bedroom together. Beautiful bedding and bath towels arrived courtesy of Pine Cone Hill and so until everything else arrives, I’ll be spending the next week brainstorming what to put on these bare walls. As a reminder, here’s where we started:
Here’s the fabric for the curtains I shared in week two:
Here’s the dresser that The CEH is painting for us and a sneak peek of its fab new color (!!!):
And here’s the general plan of attack outlined in week three:
So now we’re kind of in a holding pattern until pieces arrive and curtains and wallpaper go up. But I want to make some decisions about what’s going to fill these walls and thankfully we have no shortage of options! A grouping of Will’s bluebonnet paintings might be pretty between the windows:
I’m thinking one of these prints we already own will go above the bed:
Let me know if you have a favorite of those! Then for the opposite wall I need to decide what to do above the dresser. I have this awesome antique quatrefoil mirror from my apartment in New York but I selfishly want to save it for our foyer or master bedroom where we’ll get to enjoy it more often. So it’s back to the drawing board on a mirror and/or artwork for above the new dresser. I’ve been pinning lots of inspiration:
I’m thinking about ordering this mirror for above the dresser and bringing in these ginger jars from our living room for a little more color on that wall. And wish me luck on the bedside tables… I swear every One Room Challenge there’s going to be one piece that just plagues me — remember the coffee table dilemma from last year’s One Room Challenge? Ooof. Two weeks and lots of work to go…!
Oh and don’t forget to check out all twenty bloggers who are participating in the One Room Challenge. There’s a man cave, a nursery, a dressing room, an entire condo, a foyer, a ranch, and lots more. Interior eye candy overload!

I’m so obsessed that you choose fabulous bright green for the dresser, it’s going to look amazing!
You had me at lucite curtain rods! Drooling over those!! But, your art selection is stunning too! I hear ya on crunch time! Fingers crossed!!
ah that lamp is heavenly! This is going to be so pretty
Definitely hang the pool in Bordeaux. Our brains like harmony and the floating chaise matches the dresser.
Your room is going to be so fresh! Love all of the blue and white and the great art. I am having some of the same problems finding a few things so I feel your stress:)
I love the fabric and wallpaper. Hang in there.
That green dresser is looking fabulous, I love that color especially with navy!
I love this peek of the progress! I love the navy headboard and it looks like your guest bedroom is going to be gorgeous!

I would def go with the central park print- brings in the dresser so much more and otherwise you just have an overload of blues!
I cannot wait to see the wallpaper up. I love that paper. The room is going to be a beauty.
oh my… the green dresser is going to be a show stopper!

AH! I love this so, so much, Mackenzie!!
That’s so funny — Mitch and I have been on the hunt for a green buffet for our dining room. LOVE what you’re doing with the dresser! (And GREAT find! Just got a bamboo-style one for our guest room from Meg Made… I can’t get enough of it! 🙂
Can’t wait to see the rest!!

Southern Shades on Etsy makes the most gorgeous pillows. She is so nice and her work is impeccable. You will be thrilled when you get your pillow! She did our new pillows in our living room and I know I’ll use her again for other pillow needs. Her fabrics are also the best!
Love the little tassel nightstands! So cute. And the central park print!
