I love the clean slate of a new year and I have a feeling 2016 is going to be a great one. After a lot of change in 2015, I’m hoping 2016 will leave me feeling more settled in Dallas, more creative at work, and  of course bringing all kinds of fresh interiors/style/wedding posts to the blog!

If you’ve read Design Darling for a while, you know that I’m working my way through my second list of 101 things to do in 1001 days. I’ve crossed off 65 of my goals and have until September to see how many more I can tackle before it’s time to write my third list! These lists have been invaluable to me in setting both short- and long-term goals and it’s so much fun to look back and see what I was working on in 2013 (when I started my first list) vs. where I am now. If you’re inspired to write your own list, tweet me the link and I’ll add it to the bottom of my own list!

Whether you’re working off a 101 in 1001 list or setting New Year’s resolutions, I’d love to hear some of your goals for 2016. A few of the goals I’m looking forward to taking on this year? Dance lessons, photography lessons, lots of travel, plenty of house projects, and getting a second puppy. Let’s hear some of yours in the comments!

  1. Great post and I need to see that list of 101 for 1001 days sounds fun. I do a list every year and I have mine on my blog if you want to take a look. Have a great 2016 and I hope you complete your list with flying colours =D

  2. Hi Mackenzie,
I just discovered your blog. I love it! Ilike this mix of fashion, interiors decoration and cosyness.
I’m the owner of DANDA, an online gallery. We have European Art, Antiques and people writing about paintings and..food.
I would love to make a connection between you and my Website http://www.dandaproductions.com
    Again congratulations!
    Best Wishes

  3. I would love to finally take the trip to Cabo! I’ve been talking about it for ages. I would love to publish a lot more content on my blog. I also want to learn more about photography! My blog photos aren’t the best and I am hoping to improve. Also, I want to drink my water!

  4. I wrote my first 101 goals thingy over 3 years instead of 2.75. I’m really happy that I’ve seen some other people who have already finished their first list start a new one over new year’s eve so I feel way more accountable since they will definitely update (and have proved they will). But, overall, I want this year to be more stable, peaceful, and for me to achieve a few things I’ve been wanting to have happen.

  5. I just came across you 101 in 1001 the other day and think it is such an amazing idea! I just published my own list on my blog. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂 My biggest goals this year are defending my master’s thesis, publishing several research papers, and taking care of myself. Buying a house would be nice too!

  6. My biggest goal for 2016 is pretty simple: I want to focus on, and make my health and well being a priority. I was so so bad at taking care of myself last year (due to a massive workload and an apartment renovation), and I’ve come to realize, that I cannot tackle any big goals and changes without my health being in tip top shape. So, this is the biggie, before I tackle my other goals, like starting a business and blogging 6 days a week again 🙂
Good luck with your list of goals Mackenzie!
