HOME TOUR: CALIFORNIA BEACH COTTAGE

When I travel, I like to get to the airport with more than ample time (my fiancé and girlfriends would put emphasis on the “more than”…) to stock up on magazines and snacks. Personally I find there’s nothing worse than being stuck in the air with nothing to do and nothing to eat! One of the magazines I always pick up is House Beautiful. I was poking around on their site recently and rediscovered this little beach cottage decorated by Krista Ewart that was first published back in 2010, which I loved as much then as I do now.

I was chatting with my mom and sister this week and we’re all more anxious than usual for summertime and weekend trips to Nantucket. Don’t get me wrong — I’m always excited to get to my favorite place with my favorite people, but this year I’ve been yearning for it with an extra intensity and I was surprised to find my mom and sister are totally feeling the same. Perhaps it’s because I’m now living in Dallas or perhaps it’s because my parents moved out of our childhood home in Connecticut, but when I think about “going home” it’s about visiting Nantucket and not Darien or New York.

Anyways… here’s some to-die-for beachy decorating inspiration for those of you as excited for summer as we all seem to be. Whether your preferred destination is east coast or west coast, there’s a lot to love here so I shared a few pieces to help you get the look at the end of the post. Sigh… only a few more months!

What I wouldn’t do to have that pink fridge in my office…! Who else is counting down the days until summer?
