WEDDING WEDNESDAY: 25 LONG WEDDING GUEST DRESSES

I’ve gotten so many emails since the start of Wedding Wednesdays asking me to share ideas for wedding guests as well as brides-to-be. We have seven more weddings this year so I totally hear you! I decided to kick off these posts with a round-up of long wedding guest dresses perfect for fancier affairs (whether black tie, black tie optional, formal attire, etc.). If you have other wedding guest-related questions, feel free to ask away in the comments!

While some of the below options are seriously splurge-worthy, there are also a ton from Rent The Runway, which is definitely my go-to resource for surviving wedding season in style. I don’t mind rewearing a wedding guest dress (particularly if it’s with a different group of friends) but it’s also a lot of fun to wear something new every time (often for under $100 a pop).

That said, renting a dress does require some contingency planning, which is why I try to have my dress delivered a couple days before the wedding (you can rent for up to eight days at a time) and come prepared with these adhesive petals (which are great to have on hand in general) and this fashion tape (perfect for faking an emergency hem).

long dresses to wear as a wedding guest

one  //  two  //  three  //  four  //  five

I love the interesting neckline (and low back) of the first one and you can’t beat the price of this one.

six  //  seven  //  eight  //  nine  //  ten

Can you tell I love an interesting back? This one is to die for and you can rent or purchase the striped one.

eleven  //  twelve  //  thirteen  //  fourteen  //  fifteen

This yellow number would be gorgeous with a tan… and this shade of pink looks pretty on practically everyone.

what to wear to a black tie wedding

sixteen  //  seventeen  //  eighteen  //  nineteen  //  twenty

This one is a perfect choice for twirling on the dance floor and I love the bow and pockets on this one.

twenty-one  //  twenty-two  //  twenty-three  //  twenty-four  //  twenty-five

I’m not usually a big fan of embroidery or prints but there’s something about this design that I’m totally drawn to. Any favorites for you? More wedding guest requests?
