WHICH LAMP AND TABLE PAIRING ARE YOU?

Is anyone else a total sucker for taking quizzes in magazines? I used to love circling my responses and finding out whether I was destined to marry my crush or live on the beach or in the mountains. (Beach, duh!) I thought I’d create my own little quiz based on lamp and table pairings that I put together with pieces from Horchow. You may recall that I picked up a pair of navy bamboo lamps from Horchow for our guest bedroom during the One Room Challenge after seeing the exact same pair at my parents’ house. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

I could happily replace all the lamps in our house with pieces from Horchow. After the navy bamboo lamps arrived, I instantly started hating a cheap pair of lamps we had on the console in our living room. There’s just something about high quality, oversized, statement-making table lamps that totally changes the feel of a space. Here are six pairings I would totally put in my house — you’ll have to tell me which one resonates most with you!

ONE  //  lamp and table

TWO  //  lamp and table

THREE  //  lamp and table

FOUR  //  lamp and table

FIVE  //  lamp and table

SIX  //  lamp and table

I envision the first lamp and table pairing in a beach house. The coral lamp is a not-so-subtle nod to the sea but the gold and lucite table keep it looking fresh and not too thematic. The second pairing is what I’d call modern preppy — I love the classic urn shape of the lamp and crest-inspired hardware on the table juxtaposed with a bright pink lampshade. The third look is glamorous in an understated way with the mother of pearl finish on the lamp and the to-die-for tassel detail on the legs of the table.

The curvy wood table in the fourth pairing reminds me of something you’d see on an old ship, and I love that the blue and white lamp keeps it classic without being boring. Of course I love the navy bamboo lamps in number five since we have them on a bright green lacquered dresser in our guest bedroom but they’re just as pretty atop this marble and silver tripod table by Jonathan Adler. And you all know I have a lifelong love affair with lucite, so I couldn’t resist this lucite drum table paired with a more traditional lamp.

Which lamp and table pairing is your favorite? I truly love them all but I think my favorites are two, four, and six. Be sure to check out lots more furniture and lighting at Horchow!
