BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

It got sooo cold in Dallas this weekend! At one point I checked my phone and it was colder in Texas than it was where my parents live in Connecticut. We’re definitely excited to get to Charleston for Christmas and escape the cold for a few days!

Yesterday we opened Christmas presents with Will’s parents (who are joining my family for Christmas again this year!) so we wouldn’t have to pack so many things into our suitcases and it definitely got me into the holiday spirit! My favorite gift was a pair of blue and white lamps that his parents had in their first home — Will’s mom added the prettiest acrylic base to them and I can’t wait to have them come live with us!

One of my favorite purchases of the entire year is this J.Crew wool trench coat. I always love investing in outerwear since it’s often the only layer people see this time of year and I had never seen a winter coat in this gorgeous bright blue color. I love that it cinches at the waist like a traditional trench coat but is made in a wool-cashmere blend for added warmth. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it!

  1. You look gorgeous in the bright blue coat!
May I please know the color of this trench coat, I just bought a Jcrew wool trench in color ‘heather twilight’ after I saw your posts, but mine looks different in the shade….thanks so much!

  2. Can’t wait to see those lamps! They sound beautiful. Hope you have a great Christmas – we were in Charleston for the first time this past Spring and loved it! I’m sure it’s magical around the holidays 🙂
