Thank you all for your sweet comments on yesterday’s big announcement! I am so excited to be back on the east coast and to get settled into our new home. But I didn’t want to leave Dallas without shooting a full home tour before we started packing our things. I will say that, even after 20 months in Dallas, I didn’t put the finishing touches on every single room the way I would have liked, but I know I’ll want photos of this house to look back on and figured some of you might enjoy them as well! Just cut me a little slack if things don’t look perfectly polished… and wish me better luck in our next place! 🙂
There will be three more photo-filled posts after today’s but I wanted to start with the space you see when you first walk up the stairs in our townhouse. Will and I both love the open concept living area, which features a little dining nook to the right of the stairs and the kitchen off to the left. I’ve shared bits and pieces of this space over the past year and a half but hopefully these photos give you a few more angles so you get the full picture.
This is definitely the most complete of the spaces I’ll be sharing — probably the only things I would have added with more time would be window treatments behind the dining table and two armchairs in the living room as well as new lighting fixtures over the dining table and kitchen island. Even without those updates, I love how bright and happy this space is as several of our favorite art and furniture pieces wound up in this room. I hope you love it as much as we do!

Hi,
Where did you get the white bookshelf to the right of the Slim Aarons photo?
The link to it seems to be down.
Thanks!
It’s from Wisteria but I’m not sure it’s still available. Sorry about that!
Gorgeous! It’s like your on vacation every time you’d walk into your home! Hope the move is going well!!
Hi Mackenzie! What is your opinion on the quality and durability of the Pottery Barn Sectional?
No complaints! We love it!
Love it!
For the Slim Aarons prints, did you have them framed through photos.com? I was just wondering about the quality of their frames.
Yes, I did! Quality is great 🙂
Gorgeous, Mackenzie!!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with the next place! xx
Love the blue and white theme of this room! Especially the blue and white ceramics.
My entire apartment is navy and white, so I am naturally in LOVE with this entire arrangement. I think it allows you to take any accent pieces into other rooms and makes it easier to update later down the road because navy is such a classic color.
I also have added you to the list of blogs that I follow in my right hand sidebar. I don’t have time to comment much but I am always reading on my slow night shifts at the hospital 🙂
Love all the white and navy and the open feel to everything!
