If you’ve been following me for the past year, you may recognize our guest bedroom and powder room from the One Room Challenge, where I decorated both spaces in the span of six weeks. Most of the major pieces stayed in place — navy scalloped headboard, green lacquered dresser, blue and white ikat drapes — but there were some decisions that I had rushed to get the room “finished” for the six week deadline and then made a few changes after the challenge had ended.
It’s also funny what I missed in person that then jumped out at me when I looked at photos — the art above the bed was way too tiny and the sconces desperately needed to be rehung. The guest bedroom was easily the least utilized room in our home in Dallas so I didn’t want to spend a ton of money purchasing new pieces, so when Gray Malin sent me a piece from his Palm Springs collection, I knew I had the perfect place for it. I’m excited to see where all these pieces will end up in our new home!
By the way, if you love the Dana Gibson fabric and wallpaper in this post but aren’t ready for a big project, I’ve had good luck sourcing her fabric collection for Stroheim on already made pillows. Check out a few great options here, here, and here!
