Let me start by saying the last thing this house needs is another basket bag. Between me and Ali, we have a collection of at least a dozen bags of the straw, wicker, and woven varieties. They’re one of my favorite summer staples but eventually enough is enough… or so I thought. When Lindroth Design (who made my go-to bag last summer) offered to send their new mini Birkin basket, I took a look at their site and just couldn’t say no. The shape feels slightly reminiscent of my Grandy’s Nantucket lightship basket and I love the chic leather handle. The size is pretty tiny but it’s perfect for a summer frolic among the rose-covered cottages of ‘Sconset (where we get married in less than two months, ahhh!). The Birkin baskets also come in a variety of colors and sizes, but I now have my eye on one of these super chic leather handle trays for our coffee table. In love!!!
I took my newest basket bag out for a spin with Ali and paired it with this cute gingham off-the-shoulder top and these white bow shorts. We wound up running into my friend/bridesmaid Carver and her mom walking their precious dog Bea! It’s kind of funny — I wouldn’t say that I know a ton of people on the island outside of my family and closest friends, but lately I’ve been running into former summer coworkers, friends of friends, and wedding vendors left and right. I love when Nantucket feels like a small town even with so many summer tourists (but I’m still pretty excited for September when things quiet down a bit!).
