A NAUTICAL HOME THAT’S NOT TOO SUMMERY

I talked about wanting to add a few more masculine touches to our home in this post after being inspired by some of the safari lodges we visited during our honeymoon. Darker colors, leather upholstery, wood furniture… things I’ve stayed away from in the past but am interested to see how I could incorporate into our light, bright, colorful home over time.

Suffice it to say I was totally inspired by my friend and fellow blogger Will Taylor‘s new beach house in Bellport, New York. I chatted with him right after he and his husband Toby purchased the house last year and was so excited to see part of the project featured on One Kings Lane recently! They did an amazing job transforming the house to suit their style and decorating in a way that feels both totally appropriate for a beach house and yet not so summery that you’d want to redecorate the whole thing come winter. I’m sharing a few of my favorite snaps below but be sure to check out the full feature here for more photos.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the One Kings Lane sale inspired by Will and Toby’s new home away from home. Can you even handle those colorblocked dining chairs? Swoooon!
