I’m extra excited for this weekend because I leave for Amy’s birthday trip on Sunday! We’re headed to Palm Springs to soak up a few days of sunshine with Ali, Max, and Max’s boyfriend Brendan. Will and I went to Palm Springs for the first time a couple years ago and I’m excited to head back to some of our favorite spots and stay at a new hotel in town. Feel free to follow along on Instagram!

This week’s rose was a tie between getting in three workouts with my mom and finding a new doctor in Connecticut (part of #73 on my 101 in 1001 list!). My mom and I did a total body class (mix of boxing and strength training), Pilates, and a barre class so I am definitely feeling sore today but it feels great to get back into a workout rhythm. And I was so happy to reconnect with the doctor I had in college and when I lived at home after graduation. It’s a boring adult task to find a new doctor but it’s comforting to know that I’m in good hands should something come up health-wise.

This week’s thorn is feeling like I didn’t get enough done before leaving for Palm Springs. I always tell myself I’m going to be on my A game before a trip (house tidy, inbox empty, etc.) and it just never turns out that way! I feel like it makes for a hectic return home even after the best trips. If you have any tips for buttoning things up before heading out of town, I’d love to hear them! Have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. Finding a new doctor – and one you get along with and enjoy going to – isn’t an easy task! It is definitely one of those mundane adult responsibilities, but when you find the one you click with it makes all the difference. Unless one of you moves or they retire, you can work with them for YEARS! And that is something very highly valued and desired, I think, in primary care physicians. They enjoy the opportunity to see their patients progress in their lives. Have fun in Palm Springs!!!
