Happy Friday, friends! I’m playing catch-up today after spending the first few days of the week in Palm Springs (more on that below!). This weekend I’m heading into the city for my cousin Emily’s bachelorette. It’s been so fun planning our weddings just three months apart and I can’t wait to celebrate her this weekend!

This week’s rose was my trip to Palm Springs to celebrate my friend Amy’s birthday with Ali, Max, and Brendan. Amy and Ali are two of my closest friends and while I’d met Max and Brendan before this trip, it was so fun to get to know them better! We all stayed at the Holiday House, which was beautifully decorated by one of my favorite designers, Mark D. Sikes, and was surprisingly affordable for three nights. We had so much fun eating and drinking our way through the desert — there’s almost nothing that some quality time with friends can’t solve.

This week’s thorn is me definitely feeling a little worse for the wear after all the carbs and cocktails earlier in the week (…and this coming weekend too!). It’s always so hard to be healthy during the holidays and I’d say I’m off to a particularly bad start. I guess the diet starts Monday…?

P.S. Don’t forget to check in next week for all of our wedding photos! I AM SO EXCITED TO SHARE!!! 🙂

  1. Hi Mackenzie,

Your photos from Palm Springs were gorgeous! And I’m sure the cocktails were worth it 😉 On a home remedy note, if you’re still feeling icky from all the fun I’ve found that a large Gatorade in your favorite flavor and a couple cliff bars is a good start. Then tons of water and fresh veggies and fruit. Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I’m hoping to make it to Palm Springs for a weekend this year—would love to see a post covering your itinerary while there!!
