I can’t believe I’m writing these words but Will and I just moved into a new house… again! If you’ve been reading for a while you know we’ve done two cross-country moves as a couple (from New York to Dallas in 2015 and from Dallas to Connecticut earlier this year) and now we just moved for the third time in three years… this time to a house five minutes away (phew!). Sadly the owners of the house we rented this year decided to tear it down and build something new for them to move into, so while another move wasn’t remotely on our radar, we had no choice but to find a new spot in Greenwich that would work equally well for Will’s commute, my working from home, etc. And we’re both really excited about where we wound up!

We actually made the not-so-big move this past Sunday with help from a local moving crew and my amazing parents and siblings (who were conveniently all in town for Thanksgiving!). Thankfully we were able to sign a two-year lease this time so we know we have some time to get settled before it’s time to do it all over again! We both can’t wait to buy a house here but this two-year plan will give us some time to save our pennies and figure out which neighborhood we might like to end up in long-term.

I thought you might want to see a few before pictures of the new house before we moved approximately 3,814,901 boxes into it this week. While I keep saying I don’t have another move in me, we’re really lucky we moved so little distance this time around and into something with a much nicer kitchen and bathrooms. And you know I’m always excited for a new decorating project. 🙂 Stay tuned!

  1. Such a lovely home! I would love to see the outside of your new house. Darien is a perfect place to raise a family. I grew up in New Canaan, and the area is the best!
    Love your blog.

  2. Oh my goodness, that must have been so stressful! The new place looks gorgeous though. I’m excited to see more pictures once you finally get all settled in.

  3. Ohmygoodness, another move? I’m selfishly excited because I love your decorating posts, but you deserve a nap! And some wine… Yes, get on that. 🙂

p.s. It’s gorgeous and you’re making me miss Greenwich!

  4. What a beautiful kitchen, and those wood floors are gorgeous! Good luck unpacking, I suggest lots of dance music and snacks. Congratulations and good luck on this new adventure! xAllie

  5. Wow! The hardwoods are gorgeous. And it looks like you have a front porch? That will be fun to decorate. I’m sure it’s a pain to move during this season and so soon after your wedding, but it looks like you have a winner, as well as some breathing space to figure out longer term plans.

    1. We do have a little porch! And you’re so right — we were definitely not thrilled to return from our honeymoon to the news we’d have to move, but everything totally happens for a reason and I think we’re right where we’re meant to be!
