THIS WEEK’S ROSE AND THORN

Happy Friday! My mom and I are heading to Florida to see my Grandy. I’m excited for the warm weather and lots of girl time! And I’m hoping we’ll have time to stop at a needlepoint shop so I can pick out a new canvas (I just dropped off my first one — a Nantucket ornament — this week but didn’t have time to pick out something new!) because I totally have the needlepoint bug right now.

This week’s rose was a blogger dinner hosted by Dudley Stephens at the Inn at Pound Ridge. If you watch my Instagram stories, you know I basically haven’t taken off my Dudley Stephens Park Slope turtleneck since I got it. It’s made of the softest fleece and the loose high neck makes it the chicest turtleneck I’ve ever owned. They’re currently accepting pre-orders in a ton of colors that will ship by early March and I’m telling you, once you own one, you’ll want three more. I’ve been living in mine this winter but it will be perfect for chilly summer nights on Nantucket!

Anyway the founders Lauren and Kaki hosted the most beautiful event with all my favorite local blogger friends and we all had such a blast! If you’re looking for more Connecticut bloggers to follow, definitely check out Carly, Chrissy, Jordan, Julia, and Stephanie. I’d been missing having a group of blogger girlfriends like I did when I lived in New York a few years ago and my heart was just so full after catching up with all these amazing women. I’d also never been to the restaurant before and it is so beautiful and everything was delicious. I’m now dying to go back and bring Will!

This week’s thorn was just being in a little bit of a funk all week. It’s been freezing in Connecticut (why am I not used to this having grown up here?!) and I swear all the gray days have a major effect on my mood. Does anyone else fall into a funk seemingly for no reason sometimes? I need to go back and watch these videos I shared way back in 2013 that usually do the trick when I’m feeling down. I hope you all have a good one!
