HOW I STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES

design darling hair straightening brush

I featured this on my Instagram stories yesterday but I wanted to share on the blog for those of you who might have missed it! I’m really not an expert when it comes to hair and makeup but I just had to tell you guys about this $39 hair straightening brush that’s been a total game changer for me.

I’ve written about the keratin treatment I got over the summer (and I’ve since gotten a second at Maison d’Alexandre which I highly recommend if you’re local!) which has made my naturally frizzy hair so much more manageable. But my hair texture is still pretty inconsistent after years of chemical straightening treatments (curly in some places and almost pin straight in others) so I often run a flat iron through it just to even things out if I have plans with friends or know I’ll be taking pictures for the blog.

Straightening my hair with a flat iron (at least the cheap one I’ve had since college!) typically takes me 30+ minutes, but this hair straightening brush gets the job done in less than ten, plus it’s much easier to get the baby hairs around my face and reach the back of my head. The hair straightening brush heats up super fast (up to 450 degrees, which I use because I’m the least patient person in the universe), comes with a glove if you’re worried about burning yourself, and is very straightforward to use, so I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves! The two photos at the top were taken literally six minutes apart… not bad for a girl who’s historically been pretty hopeless at doing her own hair. I hope it helps some of you as well!

P.S. Here’s a link to my top (so soft and under $50) and our monogrammed bath towels!
