I still have several more outfits to share with you guys from our trip to the Dominican Republic two weeks ago (the first few here, here, here, and here if you missed them!) but I wanted to share more about our stay at Playa Grande Beach Club and take a moment to feature the gorgeous decor and property. This was not a sponsored trip in any way but I’ve had several of you ask if it’s worth the splurge and my answer is a resounding yes!
Will and I both love staying in boutique hotels (like this one, this one, and this one from our honeymoon!) because they tend to be cozier and more communal than bigger hotel brands. Playa Grande Beach Club shares several qualities I’ve loved about previous hotels we’ve stayed in: incredible service, several common spaces for happy hours and snacks, a long dining table where you can eat with other guests, and countless activities to participate in, many without leaving the hotel grounds. The food was the best I’ve had anywhere in the Caribbean, but perhaps the highlight of our trip was a massage on the porch of our room, listening to the ocean and the sound of falling rain. I can’t remember a time I’ve felt more relaxed!
It’s also worth noting that Playa Grande Beach Club is the brainchild of interior designer Celerie Kemble and that the decor is nothing short of awe-inspiring. This is nothing like a big box hotel where every space looks the same — from the seashell mirror behind the bar to the coffee table books in our bedroom, not a single detail was overlooked. Here are a few snaps from around the hotel as well as a few pieces to recreate a similar look.
