Hi friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. We tackled a few big projects around the house, including spontaneously deciding to paint our living room white. This is kind of the way my family rolls… On Saturday morning, my mom convinced me and Will that it would really look so much brighter if we got rid of the gray paint that was here when we moved in. By Saturday afternoon, we were at Home Depot buying paint (this color for those who have asked!) and on Saturday night, I did most of the brush work around the trim. Then yesterday my parents came over after church to help do all the rolling. You might recall some of the projects we did on my family’s Nantucket house over the summer but my dad is basically a painting master and I actually LOVE doing it too even if I’m not quite as much of a perfectionist as he is. In any event, the room is looking SO much brighter and I’m so excited to share more progress with you guys soon!
Will and I also made a trip to Pottery Barn and picked up these sheer curtains (I ordered the cheap ones I linked to in last week’s post and they were dreadful in person 🙈), this faux fiddle leaf fig (obsessed), and a candle for this lantern that we received as a wedding gift and that my mom suggested bringing into our living room. Can you tell she’s my go-to for decorating and style input? She never hesitates to give her honest opinion haha. But it always makes for a better end result!
I wore this top on our trip to the Dominican Republic and my mom told me I kind of look like a milkmaid (followed by “but you can pull it off” 😂) but I kept it anyway because I’m so obsessed with the square neck and peplum waist. It’s going to be in heavy rotation come summer on Nantucket so hopefully she’s not embarrassed to be seen with me! 😉
