I hadn’t been to Versailles since I studied abroad in France in college and I was excited to bring Will there for the first time! We took the RER train from Paris and arrived just before the palace opened so the notoriously long line only took 15 or 20 minutes, but I know you can buy online passes to guarantee an entry time in advance if you’re on a tighter schedule. We got lucky with the most glorious weather the morning of our visit so we admittedly cruised through the palace itself to see the Hall of Mirrors before spending most of our time wandering the famous gardens. We picked up coffees and macarons back toward the entrance of the palace then made a point to see all the gardens and fountains labeled on the map. The last time I had been to Versailles was in the middle of winter so I was excited to see everything lush and in bloom. I think my favorite spot was the orangerie off to the left when you exit the palace, but I’m happy we got to see them all and soak up a little sunshine in the process!
I wore this short sleeve button-down shirt tucked into these high-waisted sailor shorts. Occasionally I’ll see photos of myself and think I don’t look 100% comfortable in what I’m wearing, but this outfit just looks like me if that makes sense. The shirt is part of The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens line, which features additional hidden buttons on every style to prevent the shirt from gaping open. And I knew I needed the shorts the moment I first laid eyes on them… A girl can never have too many high-waisted shorts if you ask me.

I went last year in March and it was not this green. So much more beautiful in your pictures!

Adore this outfit on you!!
When we visited Versailles last fall, my comment on escaping the overwhelming and pushy crowds in the palace (hello, tour groups wielding selfie sticks despite the rules against them, and good luck pausing to try to actually absorb a room!) was “no WONDER Marie-Antoinette built herself a country farm and village to escape from this.” And I live in a city and am used to crowded sidewalks, etc! Totally agree that the gardens and grounds are much more fun to explore.
This is everything! Love that you guys made a point to get there so early!
Love this outfit, you definitely look comfortable but wholly yourself!
