Happy Friday, friends! Will is on his way out to Nantucket for the weekend and then we both head home on Sunday before returning next weekend. Gotta get in all our island time while we can — summer always goes by way too fast!
I’ve been loving connecting with you guys using the new Q&A feature on Instagram this week (saved under my highlights if you missed them) and love sharing my Nantucket recommendations for your upcoming visits (you can view all my recs in my new Nantucket guide!). One of the best sunsets on Nantucket (or in the world, if you ask me!) is at Galley Beach, a beachfront restaurant in town where you can sip cocktails around a firepit or eat dinner with your toes in the sand. At sunset everyone abandons their lounges and tables to take pictures on the beach as the sun dips below the horizon — last week we even spotted Debra Messing getting her ‘gram on!
We went last week while Ali and Patrick were visiting and it was so nice to catch up over dinner and a bottle of rosé (er, two). I’ve missed them so much since we moved from Dallas to Connecticut! I made us a “weather permitting” reservation to eat at a table on the sand and thankfully the weather cooperated beautifully. But my favorite thing to do is get there early enough to score a lounge or two around one of the firepits and enjoy cocktails before heading elsewhere for dinner. Both dinner and drinks are pretty pricey but that sunset is always worth every penny!
