On our second night in Vermont, Will and I made our way to the Pitcher Inn in Warren, Vermont, for drinks at Tracks and dinner at 275 Main. The inn is quintessential New England perfection and we couldn’t have asked for a more charming spot to enjoy cocktails by the fire. And dinner here was easily our favorite meal of the trip — I would love to come back and stay here on a future visit!
I just ordered this J.Crew cocoon coat in sandstone to replace the navy version that I’d had for close to a decade. It feels so good to start the season with a crisp new coat! I ordered the regular size 0 but looking at these photos I wish I’d gotten the petite version as the sleeves are a little longer on me than I remember. I just saw that J.Crew Factory is carrying their own version of this coat at a steep discount if you’re looking for a great budget buy!
J.Crew cocoon coat (similar for less) // Tuckernuck striped shirt
& Other Stories wool scarf // Frame jeans
Celine sunglasses // Tory Burch satchel // Banana Republic ankle boots

Hi! Do you feel like the quality of the new style of this coat is on par with your navy one of years back? I’ve read reviews online that people feel like the quality has gone down so I’ve been a bit hesitant to make the purchase! Thanks!
Maybe my last one was so beat up that this one feels amazing haha but yes, I think the quality is the same on this one!
Thanks for the rec! Love this color!
Love your outfit–that scarf is the perfect shade of blue!
I’m adding the Pitcher Inn to my places-to-visit list–I trust your taste in restaurants implicitly after you reviewed Palma here years ago–it’s one of my favorite restaurants now!

Ahh that makes me so happy! Palma forever 🙂 🙂 🙂
Obsessed with those booties! How are they in terms of comfort??
Super comfy because of the stacked heel! I probably wore them for five or six hours that night, no problem. Enjoy!
Love your handbag! How has the leather held up? I was about to purchase the tote version, but the Tory sales lady told me the leather could scratch super easily. Thanks!
Mine has held up great but I don’t carry it every day or use it to carry my laptop (not sure how big the tote you’re considering is). I carry this pebbled leather bag as a tote for my laptop, camera, etc. and would give it 10/10 for durability if that’s your primary focus!
Love this color on you! I purchased the gray version of this coat last year (but the bullet after lusting after it for a good while), and it is one of my favorite purchases. I just moved back north from Virginia, and knowing that I’ll get to wear this coat again on my commute daily *almost* makes up for the months of cold that I know are ahead!
i have always wanted one of those J Crew coats! I got a ton of wool coats when I was in college (I love a couple of them, a pink and a red one, both with funnel necks) but I need to pare them down so I can get a grownup version now. My lifestyle is definitely different too — no more full days of trudging through the frigid cold college campus between classes; a whole lot more schlepping things to barre class or toddler activities or the grocery — but I still definitely see the practicality of a classic coat, especially in a neutral tone!
