You’ve seen me wear this white blazer with jeans but this is the second time I’ve worn it as a “short suit” with coordinating white linen shorts and I have to say I kind of love it! We snapped these pictures in our hotel room before heading to dinner at Mr. Wong in Sydney but I’d actually worn the exact same thing to drinks in Palm Beach a few weeks before. It makes me want to try a similar outfit with my navy blazer and a pair of navy shorts… would you ever wear a blazer and shorts together?
I’ve raved about the fit of Smythe blazers before and recently added a third to my closet in this gorgeous hydrangea blue hue that I just couldn’t resist. I know they’re exorbitantly expensive but for me they’ve been great investment pieces that always make me look and feel my best. I wear the size 2 — if you’re between sizes I’d suggest ordering up as the waist is quite fitted. If you want to get a similar look for less, I also love this blazer from J.Crew (how fun is that hot pink?) and this similar style from J.Crew Factory.
These slides are also a recent addition to my wardrobe and I’ve gotten a ton of wear out of them as they give me a little height without sacrificing comfort. I love a good block heel! They also come in a lower height if walkability is your top concern. And a playful gingham that would be adorable for summer!
Smythe blazer (similar for less here and here) // J.Crew t-shirt // Ralph Lauren shorts (similar)
J.McLaughlin bag // Loeffler Randall knot slides (lower heel and gingham version also available)

Definitely going to wear a short suit now – you make anything look adorable Mackenzie!
Looks fabulous. You styled it perfectly.
Totally! I’ve worn a black blazer with a short lace romper for weddings in the super hot summer months before. (Granted, it was not a super formal wedding, of course… and the shorts are a longer more conservative length.) Garnered lots of compliments! I’m always a fan of monochromatic white, so this look is spot on! Love the mules too — those gold bows make me think of year-round Christmas in the best way.
I’ve never worn a short suit but always thought it’s such a cute style! I want to try now!

I’ve been loving the ‘short suit’ and have been dying to try it all winter long (obviously too cold). This may very easily become my summer uniform!
