I’m excited to shine a spotlight on my amazing mom today! If you read this interview with her and my dad about their work with A Better Chance, you already know that she has a heart of gold and endless energy when it comes to the people and projects she cares about. With her birthday next week and Mother’s Day next month, I wanted to gift her a few goodies from Mark & Graham, which we both love shopping for monogrammed accessories and home decor. I decided to put together a set of travel staples because not only did she inspire my love of adventure (we had a family goal to see all fifty states growing up — I don’t know how she and my dad survived so many road trips with four kids!) but she and my brother Camden are headed to Kenya in June to help build a school outside Nairobi. I am so lucky to have such a phenomenal role model in my life and loved getting to surprise her with these pretty pieces!

I knew I wanted to give her this white and tan carry-on bag — it’s super chic and the vegan leather makes it much more durable than it looks. It will be perfect as a personal item for her big trip in June and equally versatile for trips to and from Nantucket this summer (she just became a school nurse so she has the entire summer off, wooohooo!). It comes with a detachable strap that’s great for wearing over your shoulder and easily fits a laptop, cosmetic case, and other carry-on essentials.

Next I added this bright pink luggage tag and this pretty phone charging device (if you have a portable charging device, you can plug the USB into the charger and your phone into the cable to charge right in your bag!). I personalized everything with her initials and I love the way all the tiny gold monograms look together! I couldn’t resist this leather passport case (which I think I might just need for myself — would be much easier to keep track of in the depths of my carry-on!). The luggage tag and the passport cover also come in a set of two that saves you $15 if you want both!

Finally I added this travel cosmetic case that matches the carry-on bag. I didn’t realize it actually comes with two cases with the smaller one fitting inside the larger! My mom keeps it pretty simple when it comes to makeup, but I’ve introduced her to a few of my favorite skincare products over the years and I swear she has the best skin of anyone I know! She was so excited to open each item (especially because Mark & Graham’s gift wrapping is seriously exquisite) and I love knowing she’ll be traveling in style this summer and beyond!

P.S. I’m also hosting a Mark & Graham giveaway on Instagram this week so pop over and enter for a chance to win your own set of travel goodies (for you or your mama)!

P.P.S. A few new arrivals I have my eye on: this bamboo clutch, this linen jewelry pouch, this monogrammed straw bag, and this needlepoint wallet!

  1. Hi there,
I”m looking for the ideal bag to being to Kenya and stumbled upon this post. I’m curious if this is the small or large size? Thanks so much. Love your blog!

  2. Love this post! Beth looks fantastic, and she will really rock the trip to Nairobi in June. She is the most optimistic capable person I know. The trip will be great! Have fun, Beth, and we are all sending love from the Sikoras.
