IT’S A BOY!

Can I just say I am so impressed by people who wait to find out the sex of their baby?! I was calling my doctor’s office practically every day waiting for our blood test results to come back and finally in week 14 they had an answer for us. We’re having a baby boy!!!

I was completely surprised and to be honest a little overwhelmed at first because I’d been so convinced we were having a girl! Will and I had already agreed on a girl’s name so it took a couple days to wrap my head around picking out a name for our baby boy. I actually spent a couple days trying out different names we both liked (literally talking to my belly when I was home alone haha) and we’re pretty sure we’ve found a winner!

I was bursting at the seams to share the news and hadn’t been feeling my best (read my first trimester recap here) so we nixed the idea of a big gender reveal and just shared the news with family and friends over the phone. Again I’m so in awe of moms-to-be who find out with balloons or cake or fireworks but for me and my impatient self, there was no way I was waiting a single extra second!

Finding out we’re having a boy (and narrowing down names for him!) instantly made everything feel more real and I’ve been counting down the days until we get to meet him ever since! Not to mention bookmarking all the cute baby boy clothes and dreaming up ideas for his future nursery… there’s so much to look forward to I can hardly stand it!
