Thank you all so much for your kind words on the arrival of our sweet Teddy! We just got back from the pediatrician and he is doing great. I can’t believe he is one week old already! It’s been a roller coaster week of the most unbelievably high highs followed by a few sleepless nights and I’m hoping we can all get lots of rest this weekend. I am doing my best to listen to my body and take it easy even though all I want to do is parade him around the neighborhood and introduce him to all our family and friends who haven’t met him yet. All things in due time!
In non-baby news, I just made a major decorating decision and wanted to share in case you wish to take advantage of the same sitewide discount! Once we our master bedroom renovation last month, I knew we’d be on the hunt for a new bed as the most logical place for a king bed is now in front of the room’s only window and our previous headboard blocked more than half the light coming into the room. I’d been keeping my eyes peeled for something with a much lower back so it was love at first sight when I found this slipcovered bed! We’ve had the same inexpensive bed frame since we moved in together nearly five years ago and I’m absolutely ecstatic about this very grown-up upgrade. It’s going to be such a treat to have a proper bed, especially as I’ve been spending a good amount of time nursing Teddy while I’m propped up on pillows. I ordered a bunch of fabric swatches first (I always regret skipping that step!) and Will and I agreed on the white linen basketweave. It should be here in 6-8 weeks and I am practically counting down the days!
I am such a fan of everything Serena & Lily does and we’ve slowly built a collection of their pieces throughout our home — their aesthetic is so in keeping with how I want our home to feel and I’ve always been pleased with the quality of my purchases, from the counter stools in our kitchen and the side cart in our family room to the dresser in our bedroom and the crib in our nursery.
