OUR OUTDOOR DINING FURNITURE

Last week you saw the outdoor lounge furniture that my mom restored and today I’m excited to share our outdoor dining furniture! We’ve been having lots of outdoor dinners as a family ever since we wrapped up our kitchen renovation at the beginning of this month (still waiting on a few big pieces before I can photograph a proper reveal!) and it’s been a really nice way to wind down from the day. Creating the backyard of our dreams is still a project for the (distant) future, but 3+ months almost exclusively at home have made me more grateful than ever for our little sliver of the outdoors!

Our outdoor dining set-up came together very gradually as I actually ordered two of these outdoor Riviera dining chairs last summer so Will and I would have a place to sit around the pool (we truly had zero outdoor furniture moving into this house!). I was so excited when Serena & Lily reached out about a summer partnership as 1) I would unabashedly decorate our entire house like a Serena & Lily catalog if I could and 2) it helped me take the plunge on four more chairs to round out our dining set! We have their Riviera counter stools in our kitchen (you can actually see them in four different homes of ours over the years in this post!) and I knew these outdoor Riviera dining chairs  would serve us equally well. I love the tan and white color combo and the fact that they’re durable enough to withstand the elements so we don’t have to move them inside every time it rains (we will move them into the garage come winter though!).

I knew I wanted a white aluminum outdoor dining table so we wouldn’t have to deal with wood rot like my parents’ wood pieces and landed on this one with a simple trellis design that I love against the woven chairs. And this outdoor umbrella was a case of total serendipity — my friends Beth and Danielle from Palm Beach Lately had used it for a shoot and didn’t have a permanent home for it so they very generously offered to ship it up to us as they knew it was right up my alley! We actually already had the same umbrella in our backyard on Nantucket so of course they were spot on. 🙂 It’s this umbrella paired with this white umbrella stand and the whole set-up is both stylish and super sturdy.

  1. Looks great! Question – do you leave the furniture out all the time uncovered, and does it seem like it fares okay in the weather? Looking for something similar for my yard, but lots of reviews I have been reading mentioned not holding up well outside overtime, which I want it for, and don’t want to constantly be covering/bringing inside. Thanks!

    1. Hi! We put the two chairs we bought last summer inside our garage for the winter but other than that we leave them out when it rains, etc. It’s only been a couple months with the full set outdoors but so far so good! This is why we chose an aluminum table as opposed to wood (and there’s no way we’re getting that thing inside our garage this winter!) but we will move the chairs and umbrella inside come fall!

  2. Looks dreamy! I like all the patterns and texture together.

Would love to hear more about your thoughts on the pool now that you have it open! I know you’ve posted on IG stories about it a bit. Have you been using it?

    1. Yes, we’ve been in it at least every other day! I LOVE having a pool but we think we will also want more of a yard as Teddy grows up (most of it is currently gravel and ground coverings as opposed to grass). In an ideal world I would love to renovate the pool (both to update the equipment and change the shape/size) but that won’t be in the cards for a while so we’ll see! Enjoying it in its current state and TBD on the rest. 🙂
