As much as I prayed for him to have Will’s complexion, Teddy has definitely inherited my pale and sensitive skin and I’ve been on a mission to find the best products to protect it this summer. I started with Thinkbaby (a popular baby sunscreen rec) and found it messy and impossible to rub in, especially on a wiggly little one. Next I placed an order for this and this from Supergoop. Their products aren’t cheap, but I had a hunch I would love them because I love both their Unseen Sunscreen and more recently their Glowscreen for myself. The spray bottle makes for a much easier application than the tube I’d initially tried and is better for an all-over base, but the sunscreen stick is the absolute best for reapplications once we’re out in the backyard or in the stroller.

I also wanted to share these adorable Nantucket sun shirts from Centre Pointe, one of my favorite boutiques on the island. Each shirt has the outline of Nantucket on the chest and the island coordinates down one sleeve, but the best part is they offer UPF sun protection and come in sizes to fit the whole fam! Teddy is wearing the children’s size XS (it’s still a bit big on him but he’s 8.5 months and tiny for his age!), I’m in the women’s size S, and Will has the navy unisex one to match Teddy’s. They’re so easy to pop on with a swimsuit or shorts and dry quickly so you can reach for them day after day!

Any other baby sun protection recs for me? We also love these baseball caps and these baby wayfarers!

  1. Coppertone Water Babies is the best! Super inexpensive, easy to rub in, not greasy, and no fragrance. My son loves it!

  2. We live and die by babyganics sunscreen. And when my son was a baby we did the swim shirts and even the one piece, long sleeve/romper swimsuits to avoid having to worry about sunscreen re-application. Primary.com has great basic sun shirts to match whatever swim trunks you get. I get them monogrammed -because why not?
