APPLE PICKING AT LYMAN ORCHARDS

This weekend we celebrated Teddy’s first birthday (!!!) and I’ll write more on that in tomorrow’s post, but today is all about apple picking! We drove up to Lyman Orchards and I have to say apple picking is one of those activities that’s even more fun with little ones in tow. Teddy and his cousin Hayes left little bite marks in probably half the apples in our bag — they’re both teething at the moment so I think the cool apples felt good on their incoming teeth! It was predictably busy at the orchard, but you can pre-purchase bags and skip the line if you pay with cash and it was easy to socially distance from other groups once we were out in the orchard. The orchard is on a rather steep hill so we found it easier to carry the boys rather than push their strollers. We made a quick stop at the farm store for apple cider doughnuts (a must!) and then made the hour drive back to our house to bake an apple crisp and an apple pie and make our own pizzas. Truly the perfect fall day!
