HALL BATHROOM REMODEL UPDATE #1

It’s been a couple weeks since I shared before pictures and plans for our hall bathroom so I wanted to share a progress update on what’s been done so far! We were lucky that the demo went really smoothly (you never know what you’re going to get in a 170-year-old house!) and only took one day, but we’ve been held up by lots of snow since then so I’m hoping we can make up for lost time in the weeks to come.

The sheet mirror still needs to come out but you can see the vanity is gone and the electrician took out the old lights above the sink and ran wires down the wall for the double sconce I ordered (which will be lower than where the wire is coming out now). He also created a hole where the ceiling fixture will go (centered on the doorway so we can see it from the top of the stairs), a new fan over the tub, and a recessed light above the toilet.

New tub installed!

The plumber also installed the new tub and the hardware for the new shower fixtures. I got a few questions about the tub we went with and it’s the Kohler Bellwether tub. I’m so excited to have a bathtub with a shower curtain instead of  glass doors where we can bathe the boys (and Rory!).

The wallpaper arrived last week along with the towel bars, double hooks, and toilet paper holder (some of which you can also see in our powder room renovation last spring). Admittedly this is the phase of renovating/remodeling where I’m the most impatient — you’ve started writing checks and ordering a bunch of fixtures but you can’t quite see where your money is going yet! I think the next step is to start some of the tiling which I cannot wait for. You can see all our plans for this space here — hopefully I’ll have more exciting updates to share soon!
