TWO SPRING LOOKS FROM J.CREW

We’ve had a string of over 50° and 60° days in Connecticut and I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to usher in the spring season. I’m four weeks away from my due date with baby #2 (!) and having to get pretty creative with outfit ideas these days, but I’ve actually been finding great non-maternity pieces that still fit over my bump from J.Crew. Their new arrivals always get me excited for the season ahead and there are a ton of pieces on their site that I can’t wait to wear post-baby (looking at you, you, and you in particular!) but in the mean time I wanted to share a couple looks I put together to get me through this last month before baby!

striped dress //  navy cardigan  //  tortoiseshell sunglasses  //  rattan clutch  //  woven flats

linen shirt  //  similar white jeans  //  tortoiseshell sunglasses  //  straw tote  //  metallic ballet flats

This striped dress is a fitted ribbed material that’s super stretchy so it’s a comfy piece whether you’re pregnant or not. I paired it with these versatile woven flats (so grateful for easy-to-slip-on shoes these days!) but it would also be really cute with wedge espadrilles come summer. And this rattan clutch was a must-have addition to my collection of basket bags — I just can’t get enough!

Button-down shirts are a go-to of mine whether pregnant, breastfeeding, or none of the above and this oversized linen shirt is going to be in heavy rotation this spring and summer. I ordered the size 4 to give me an extra roomy fit over my bump, but I could easily tie the front once I’m no longer pregnant and plan to wear it over a swimsuit as a cover-up at the beach. This simple straw tote will be great for trips to the beach and farmer’s market but I actually think the unsung hero of both of these outfits is this pair of sunglasses — my go-to pair has been slipping down my nose and driving me crazy and I can’t tell you how happy I am to have a new pair that’s fitted and flattering! My mom tried them on too and they’re just a great classic shape — highly recommend if you’re searching for a new pair of everyday sunnies for the season ahead.
