I shared a sneak peek of my parents’ loft space earlier this week and today I’m excited to share photos of the completed bathroom! The whole space was a previously unfinished blank slate above our garage and we finished it out as a bedroom and bathroom that my parents moved into last summer. This bathroom isn’t a large space but it works well for them and we all love the way it turned out! I’ll list sources throughout the post but am particularly excited to highlight a few finishing touches that we were fortunate to partner with Bloomingdale’s on! I’ve been a fan of their home assortment for years now — it’s actually one of the places where Will and I registered for our wedding! — as they carry so many brands I love in one place. In this post you’ll see some of my favorite items from Matouk, Jonathan Adler, and Pigeon & Poodle but they also carry brands like Diptyque, Kate Spade, and Ralph Lauren Home as well as a huge assortment of kitchen items!

I had ordered these Matouk bath towels for my parents last summer as a housewarming present when they moved in so it was fun to pick out a few coordinating pieces to complete the space before photographing it. Matouk makes some of the most exquisite bath and bed linens and these Cairo towels are no exception. The azure blue trim is a perfect match with the Thibaut “Bungalow” wallpaper my mom chose for the space! And this solid bath mat comes in the same color.

Opting for a single sink gave my parents more counter space on the vanity and I was excited to order a few bath accessories to give them pretty and practical ways to stay organized. We have several of these Jonathan Adler lacquer bath trays throughout our home — they’re the perfect size for toiletries, a candle and matches, stationery, etc.! — and they’re also a nice affordable gift idea if you’re ever stocking up on hostess or housewarming presents! My mom and I also picked out this sleek soap dispenser and this glass canister that’s a pretty way to store q-tips or cotton balls. Btw if you haven’t tried cleaning/laundry products from The Laundress before, you will looove this room spray!

A little decorating trick I learned from my mom is to pay attention to incorporating different textures throughout a space, even one as small as a bathroom. The mix of woven baskets, polished nickel fixtures, and white lacquer bath accessories like this tissue box cover and this waste bin against the patterned wallpaper makes the space feel more layered. And don’t get me started on the basketweave tile on their shower floor! I’m obsessed. 🙂 I hope you enjoyed the little tour!

  1. Hi Mackenzie! Your home transformation is beautiful and inspiring!! Love all your design choices and your parents’ bathroom is no exception. Wondering – from where did you get your window treatments? Thank you for sharing your stories!

  2. Looks amazing! You should both be very proud. Love the blue tones and the baskets area built into the wall. Where is the basket that holds the toilet roll from and have you tied something to it? Love it all!

  3. Gorgeous bright space! Great wallpaper pick (haven’t seen it before!) Where are the following items from? Sconces? Mirror? Sink faucet? Also is it marble square tiles on the floor on the diagonal or set straight/stacked? Thank you so much!!

  4. It’s lovely. You did a beautiful job bringing it all together. May I ask where you found those fabulous baskets? Thank you for you time.

  5. Just love this bathroom as we are maybe your parents age and now down sizing!! Just bought a house with a smaller bathroom.
Would love to know the source of the vanity, counter top and sink! It would be perfect for our bathroom!

    1. I may be wrong, but it looks like the 48″ Bella Vanity by Kitchen Bath Collection. My daughter just redid her master and it looks exact.

  6. Those woven basket shelves are genius. What a great way to add extra storage to a smaller space (and I am 100% stealing this idea!). What made you settle on this storage solution vs. a traditional cabinet or drawers?
