LOFT BATHROOM REVEAL

I shared a sneak peek of my parents’ loft space earlier this week and today I’m excited to share photos of the completed bathroom! The whole space was a previously unfinished blank slate above our garage and we finished it out as a bedroom and bathroom that my parents moved into last summer. This bathroom isn’t a large space but it works well for them and we all love the way it turned out! I’ll list sources throughout the post but am particularly excited to highlight a few finishing touches that we were fortunate to partner with Bloomingdale’s on! I’ve been a fan of their home assortment for years now — it’s actually one of the places where Will and I registered for our wedding! — as they carry so many brands I love in one place. In this post you’ll see some of my favorite items from Matouk, Jonathan Adler, and Pigeon & Poodle but they also carry brands like Diptyque, Kate Spade, and Ralph Lauren Home as well as a huge assortment of kitchen items!

I had ordered these Matouk bath towels for my parents last summer as a housewarming present when they moved in so it was fun to pick out a few coordinating pieces to complete the space before photographing it. Matouk makes some of the most exquisite bath and bed linens and these Cairo towels are no exception. The azure blue trim is a perfect match with the Thibaut “Bungalow” wallpaper my mom chose for the space! And this solid bath mat comes in the same color.

Opting for a single sink gave my parents more counter space on the vanity and I was excited to order a few bath accessories to give them pretty and practical ways to stay organized. We have several of these Jonathan Adler lacquer bath trays throughout our home — they’re the perfect size for toiletries, a candle and matches, stationery, etc.! — and they’re also a nice affordable gift idea if you’re ever stocking up on hostess or housewarming presents! My mom and I also picked out this sleek soap dispenser and this glass canister that’s a pretty way to store q-tips or cotton balls. Btw if you haven’t tried cleaning/laundry products from The Laundress before, you will looove this room spray!

A little decorating trick I learned from my mom is to pay attention to incorporating different textures throughout a space, even one as small as a bathroom. The mix of woven baskets, polished nickel fixtures, and white lacquer bath accessories like this tissue box cover and this waste bin against the patterned wallpaper makes the space feel more layered. And don’t get me started on the basketweave tile on their shower floor! I’m obsessed. 🙂 I hope you enjoyed the little tour!
