I love any kind of year-end recap (ahem, this is my third one this week!) and today I’ve rounded up what I consider my ten best purchases of 2021. A few closet MVPs, a few self-care staples, and always a few Amazon gadgets for good measure… I’d love to hear what would make your list!

one  //  two  //  three  //  four  //  five

six  //  seven  //  eight  //  nine  //  ten

1. Amazon alarm clock

Technically I think this was a late 2020 find but I have to mention it here because having a digital clock next to my bed finally pushed me to start charging my phone on the other side of the room at night and I have a much easier time falling asleep without the temptation of endless scrolling.

2. Navy nap dress

I know nap dresses hit peak trendiness in 2021, but I’m not ready to retire one of the only dresses that’s made me feel pretty and put together while pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding all in the same size. I wear the XS and I shared the bra I wear underneath in this post.

3. Joy Creative Shop monogrammed notepad

Daily to do lists are a little more fun on a pretty monogrammed notepad. And this Etsy shop has lots of pretty paper goods if your desktop could use some sprucing. These also make great gifts!

4. Nécessaire lotion

I’ve worked with Nécessaire on several sponsored Instagram campaigns over the past couple years but this is a product I’ve repurchased on my own several times and refuse to be without! It’s the fastest absorbing lotion I’ve ever tried — I love putting it on right before bed and not having that tacky feeling on my skin.

5. Amazon neck and shoulder heating pad

One of you recommended this in response to me sharing that I’ve been experiencing migraines ever since having Teddy and while I can’t say I’ve found any one magic cure, this really belongs in the Amazon hall of fame. The magnetic snap that keeps in place is brilliant. Whether you’re a headache sufferer or just someone who feels freezing cold all the time, I highly recommend giving this a try!

6. Ayr button-down

If you’re looking for the perfect casual button-down, look no further. This shirt is a dream. It has the perfect boxy fit that works with jeans and ballet flats, denim shorts and sneakers, or even over a swimsuit. The white one is next on my list!

7. Alex Mill cardigan

I already wrote a love letter to this cardigan here but it’s worth restating that I’ve worn it probably twice a week since it arrived. It’s just one of those easy pieces that instantly makes me feel a little more put together and I like that the material isn’t so precious that I’m afraid to wear it around our kids.

8. Navy Haircare shampoo & conditioner

Another product I first tried for a sponsored post and have since become a fan for life. One of you recommended this biotin-enriched combo for helping my hair grow faster after postpartum hair loss and I’ve sworn by it ever since. I’m now in my second round of awkward postpartum regrowth after having Peter but my hair has never been healthier. Code MACKENZIE30 should still work for 30% off if you’ve been wanting to give it a try!

9. Amazon hair finishing stick

If you’re in the throes of postpartum hair loss/regrowth too, this is another great tool to have in your arsenal for taming baby hairs around your face and along your part. It looks like a mascara wand but goes on completely clear and you can’t beat the $8 price tag!

10. J.Crew cabana sunglasses

I honestly can’t remember what year I started wearing these sunglasses but they’re a staple for me now and they’re perfect if you’re looking for a flattering and well-priced pair that you won’t need to cry over when they inevitably disappear and you have to reorder. 🙂

  2. I’ve been thinking of ordering a AYR button down once my baby boy arrives. What size did you end up buying? It looks roomy.
