A WEEKEND AT THE MAYFLOWER INN

Will and I had the most relaxing, low-key weekend at the Mayflower Inn. We were originally supposed to go in January but between recovering from having Covid over Christmas and finding out I was pregnant with baby #3, I’m glad we decided to postpone until this past weekend. It was our first weekend away from both boys and we honestly hardly knew what to do with ourselves at first — I don’t think I’ve slept so well in probably three years which alone made it well worth the trip!

The Mayflower Inn is in Washington, CT, about an hour and fifteen minutes from our home in Darien and would be an easy getaway for anyone in Fairfield County, Westchester County, or New York City. There is a ton of great dining, shopping, and hiking trails in the area (Kent Falls would be an easy afternoon outing from the hotel!) but for the most part we took it really easy and tried to soak up every moment just the two of us!

I had an incredible prenatal massage at their spa The Well where I could have lounged all day, but we decided to pop into a few stores in Litchfield and New Preston (Pergola, Privet House, and Plain Goods are all walking distance from one another and a cute coffee shop called The Smithy!). We had breakfast in the Garden Room at the hotel and dinner on the porch of the Tap Room one night but I think the real highlight was forcing Will to start Bridgerton with me from the comforts of the canopy bed in our room. Just what the doctor ordered!

I was excited to stay in one of the rooms recently redesigned by Celerie Kemble, who also started Playa Grande Beach Club which is my favorite place I’ve ever been in the Caribbean. She has me dying to incorporate one of these paper plants somewhere in our home! I honestly didn’t put on a drop of makeup the entire weekend but I did snap some photos around the property for any of you considering planning a little trip!
