THE CUTEST POOL FLOATS + A SNEAK PEEK OF OUR NEW GARDEN HOUSE

It’s been about two months since our Hillbrook Collections garden house was delivered and installed and I feel badly I haven’t shared it here yet because it’s brought me so much joy every day since! It’s a simple 8′ x 12′ structure that’s currently unpainted on the interior (I can’t decide if I want to simply seal the wood, paint it white, or some combination of the two!) and contains a desk, a chair, and a fan at the moment… I haven’t rushed into trying to decorate it because truthfully just having my own space at our home to come out and work without hearing kids or construction noises throughout the day has been a dream come true. I probably won’t start to really decorate it (seal or paint, hang things on the walls, add more furniture or shelving) until the fall at the earliest, but I did want to share a little sneak peek since it’s been such a joyous part of my everyday routine for a couple months now. The quickest (and prettiest) commute ever! I did have a couple people DM me about the cost but as the process is completely custom (depending on size, shape, number of windows and doors, your delivery location, etc.) I feel more comfortable directing you their website so you can see more examples of their work and inquire directly with them — the founder Alison was so easy to work with and the end result makes me happier than I ever could have imagined!

In other fun news, Funboy sent us these fabulous mommy-or-daddy-and-me pool floats modeled after golf carts and they are just a blast to have in our pool. Teddy actually prefers the larger float (he likes to tell us he’s “relaxing” and puts his hands behind his head) and Peter will happily hang out in the kids’ version. Highly recommend for a fun family photo opp or just everyday summer fun if you have a pool!

P.S. I’m wearing this Hill House one piece in a size medium and wish I’d gotten the large which I think I’ll need as I get closer to my due date. I knew I would have FOMO seeing all my non-pregnant friends rocking their new swimwear this summer so I decided to go for it and I think the neckline in particular is so flattering if you’re contemplating giving it a try!

P.P.S. Crazy to reflect on what our backyard looked like last spring… we’ve come a long way, baby!
